Method 1. Use the Preview option
I have several tables in a Word document. The rows in the first table will break across pages just fine. In between the 1st and 2nd tables, is about a paragraph or so of text. Only the header shows up for the second table. The first row after the header is being displayed on the next page. I should add that the row has a lot of text in it.
Open the PDF file in Preview, which is the default PDF viewer and editor on Mac. Now, Go to the View menu, select Thumbnails from the drop-down menu, you will then see the left sidebar with page thumbnails in Preview.
Now simply drag and drop the selected PDF page(s) from Preview to your desktop or to Finder. This will copy the selected PDF pages from Preview and save then as separate PDF documents on your Mac System. If you need to split only a few PDF as separate files, this is your best option.

Hi awtsang,
Click anywhere on the table. Format Panel > Arrange > Move with Text >Inline with Text.
select the whole rows that you want to break out into a new table;
hover the cursor over a row label;
with a trackpad, a 'hard click' bottom left (and hold that click) will make the selected rows appear to lift off the page;
drag the selection away to create a new table.
This works also with columns and a rectangle of selected cells.
Tested in Pages 6.3.
Tested in Numbers 4.3
If I remember correctly, it also works in earlier versions of Pages and Numbers, but I am unable to test.
With a mouse, there may be a way to 'lift and drag' but my mouse died and I am unable to test.
